Founded with a vision to create a truly child-centered learning environment, Brason Academy has grown into a trusted name in Montessori education across the Waterloo Region. With campuses in Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo, we proudly serve families with children from toddler to elementary age, offering a Montessori continuum that is nurturing, academically rich, and offers inclusive learning experience.
Brason Academy started in 2003 in the beautiful Hespeler village of Cambridge with 14 children. It is headed by Manju Porwal. Manju herself is a dedicated educator with over 30 years of teaching experience across India, the UK, and Canada. Her deep-rooted belief in the transformative power of early education led to the creation of a school where children are not just taught, they are guided to explore, question, and grow.
From its humble beginnings, Brason has become a community rooted in Montessori principles, academic excellence, and warm, individualized care. Over the years, the school has expanded its programs and campuses, while staying true to its mission of preparing children for life, not just the next grade.
Under the vision of the director, Manju Porwal, Brason continued to grow from one location of 34 families to 113 families over two locations and a strong team of passionate educators. With the third location in Kitchener starting in September 2025, the Brason family will be further growing.

Our Programs
At Brason, we follow the time-tested Montessori method, which emphasizes independence, self-discipline, and a lifelong love of learning. Our classrooms are mixed-age, allowing students to grow at their own pace while learning from and mentoring their peers.
Children are encouraged to follow their natural curiosity, guided by specially trained Montessori educators and beautiful, tactile materials that invite exploration. Our low student-teacher ratio ensures every child receives the attention, respect, and encouragement they deserve.

A Vision That Grows with Your Child
We are excited to be expanding our Montessori vision with the opening of our new Elementary School in Kitchener in September 2025. This new chapter reflects our long-term commitment to providing authentic, high-quality Montessori education through the foundational and formative years from toddlerhood all the way to adolescence.
Each program level is thoughtfully designed to support the child’s developmental stage, offering hands-on learning, freedom within structure, and personalized guidance.
Our Cambridge and Waterloo locations are licensed by the ministry of education as child care centres and are enrolled in CWELCC (Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care). This means that the fee reductions offered by the CWELCC are passed on to the families.
Our Kitchener location is licensed as a private elementary school by the ministry of education. This location does not fall under the scope of CWELCC.
